Our Top Highlights from TECHTalks Buffalo

Joined by over 100 of Buffalo’s leading technology enthusiasts, innovators, and business leaders, we had the opportunity to explore the latest and greatest developments in tech, along with some awesome ideas that are predicted to shape the future of our industry.

Some of the underlying themes of Buffalo’s event included:

  • Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are here to stay
  • Buffalo has grown to be an attractive home for scaling startups in the tech space
  • Cloud Computing, AI, and ML are shaping the way companies approach innovation

Featuring four keynote speakers, several who are Buffalo-natives, we dove head-first into a variety of topics including Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Adoption, Scaling high growth software organizations, and more.

There’s no denying that TECHTalks Buffalo was one for the books, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to bring the Buffalo community together for an afternoon of great conversation, networking, and learning something new.

Some of our favorite TECHTalks Buffalo moments…

Artificial Intelligence is very effective when it is applied to specific cases, but it doesn’t work for everything. Adam Stotz, from TROVE Predictive Data Science, covered the four challenges of AI and what you should look for when considering using AI to solve a solution for your business. Check out Adam’s full talk on our YouTube channel here. View Adam’s Presentation Slides.

There are many misconceptions surrounding moving to the cloud. Justin Guse helped put a rest to common misconceptions such as: the cloud isn’t enterprise ready, the cloud is not secure, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning tools are only for people with PhD’s, and more. Check out his full talk on our YouTube channel here.

The audience loved hearing from Joe Peacock about his experience at a start up company and then at a large company, all the growth in-between and his current role at ACV Auctions. We learned about implementing a solid people strategy, organizational strategy, and technical strategy. View Joe’s Presentation Slides.

A fan-favorite, attendees loved Liz Tsai’s talk all around the relationship between machines and humans and what this means for the future. She also shared insight on starting her own company, HiOperator and how they automate customer service. View Liz’s Presentation Slides.
