With this, we wanted to take this opportunity to share 3 ways the PGA is innovating with the help of EagleDream Technologies, an organization rooted right here in Rochester, NY:

1. Moving to the Cloud

One of the key challenges the PGA faced was how to build the most secure, high performing, resilient, and efficient infrastructure possible for their applications. After an in-depth review of the PGA’s environment (also referred to as a Well-Architected Review), EagleDream advised the PGA on the vast benefits and opportunities that resulted in operating infrastructure in the cloud.

EagleDream helped the PGA to understand how they could obtain maximum return on investment in the cloud and how operating using AWS best practices would help them achieve their goals. As a result, the PGA made the decision to commit to the cloud, moving their traditional data centers to AWS, in order to support their cloud adoption and innovation goals.

“The PGA of America is undergoing a transformation to the AWS hyper-scale cloud. Going into this journey, we were faced with many of the same critical business challenges other organizations have had to overcome: how to build the most secure, high performing, resilient, and efficient infrastructure possible for our applications. Finding the right partner to help guide us through this journey was critical to the ultimate success of our AWS transformation.”
Kevin Scott – Head of Technology, PGA of America

2. Leveraging Automation

Automation is a powerful tool, and in today’s fast paced world, time is valuable. The PGA quickly recognized the tradeoff between time and money, and automation was one component of this solution. Automating standard procedures and workloads in their infrastructure with the help of EagleDream’s team have enabled the PGA to quickly react to changes in their environment scale accordingly as their business grows. How did they achieve automation? Using DevOps tools best practices and strategies. You can learn more about DevOps and the benefits of automating your environment, here.

Lastly, the PGA leveraged EagleDream’s experience and knowledge of the cloud, software, and application development to begin their journey to digitally transform using technology. With the help of EagleDream, the PGA has successfully moved their applications to the cloud, are using automation to save both time and money, and are operating more efficiently as a result of technology.
